US Troops to Israel
A common theme of my blog has been covering the Israel and Palestine conflict. Not surprisingly there has been major developments made with the amount of aid the United States is providing to Israel with now a new shift in the direction of what possible US involvement will be in the region.
Last week the US sent an advanced missile defense system in response to an increase in rocket attacks Israel has been bombarded with from Iran. While the US has already provided Israel with technology and defense systems such as their "Iron Dome" this time the system comes with 100 US troops to operate it. These are the first American troops that have been deployed to the region directly sense its outbreak in 2023. President Biden has stressed that this system is strictly focused on defense of Israel, however Israeli officials have been discussing a major counterattack in response to the increase in hostility from Iran and Lebanon.
There has yet to be an official response from Iran but it can safely be assumed that the US putting boots on ground in Israel will only further anger them and case more actions to be taken. The US has been very clear that there is a response force that has been moved into the area with roughly two to three thousand troops on stand by should the US need to deploy them. I believe that now the US has a foot in the door with troops on the ground we will be seeing a rapid development of involvement in the coming months.

Hey! Great post on this topic of the Israel and Palestine conflict. Since Iran has not made an official response back to Israel after all of the U.S. involvement, it makes me wonder if and how the media's reaction will affect their response. Even just with simple blog posts like this, I just wonder if the media elevates the level in which both countries respond. Even with the U.S. and everything they are doing in this, I wonder how much the media has fueled their influence. Overall, I just hope for relief to this situation, great post.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly fascinating to see how U.S. involvement in this region. The deployment of troops certainly raises the stakes, and it will be interesting to see how Iran responds. I agree that this could lead to a significant shift in the U.S.'s engagement in the conflict.
